The researcher selected a purposive sample, namely four video clips from the YouTube channel named Jayy Crane that had the most views. The research methodology employed documentary research and textual analysis of video clips. Cross-cultural communication theory is then employed as a framework for analysis, utilising the Integrative Model of Cross-Cultural Adaptation theory of Young Yun Kim (2001). This model posits that cross-cultural adaptation is a process of integrating the acquisition of a new language and culture with one’s original identity, culminating in the ability to coexist within that society. The results of the research were presented in a descriptive analysis format. The study identified two main aspects of “Thai living.” The first concerns food, exemplified by a video promoting Thai cuisine internationally, reflecting cross-cultural integration and the dissemination of “Thainess” by Thais abroad. The second relates to language use, with Thai employed alongside English in programs for narrative interpretation and language instruction. Accurate and intelligible Thai usage was observed, underscoring its cultural significance. In academic contexts, English predominates, yet Thai translations and explanations appear consistently, indicating adaptation to foreign cultures while maintaining core elements of Thainess. The study utilizes textual analysis and presents the results in a descriptive-analytical manner. The findings reveal that the novels depict women as modern individuals who refuse to succumb to fate but are capable of determining their own life paths through competence, responsibility, and intelligence. Additionally, the narrator’s language effectively conveys the characters’ fear, hope, tenderness, and determination. The representations can be categorized as follows: 1) Strong-willed women those who can control their emotions, remain composed. 2) Courageous women those who, despite being afraid, dare to make decisions and face danger resolutely. 3)Knowledgeable and capable women those with education and stable careers. 4) Independent women those who make decisions without waiting for help. 5) Gentle and compassionate women those who understand others even in times of pain. The study reveals that Pongwut Rujirachakorn’s Romantic Suspense novels construct a new representation of Thai women—one that harmoniously combines “love” and “courage” in a multidimensional way. This reflects contemporary feminist perspectives and provides a foundation for further studies on the development of women’s consciousness and gender roles in modern Thai romantic-thriller literature. The works studied include Two Thai dramas, namely Kra-chao-sri-da (Dutchman’s Pipe) and Sa-mee-sure-keun (The Overnight Husband), and two Chinese dramas, namely He-yi-sheng-xiao-mo (My Sunshine) and Qin-ai-de, Re-ai-de (Go Go Squid). Textual analysis is applied to study the works. Research findings are reported as a descriptive analysis. The research finds both similar and different aspects in the works studied. Three common characteristics found in both Thai and Chinese male protagonists include 1) good looking; 2) successful in professions and stable in love; and 3) warm-hearted to their love, honest and faithful in love, gratitude and participating in family affairs. Two different characteristics are found, including 1) Chinese male protagonists are patriotic, ambitious for frame dedicating to the nation; hard-working; and developing their love together with careers, while Thai male protagonists are outstandingly dedicated to their family or love. 2) Chinese male protagonists are discreet and profound, while the Thai are warm-hearted, polite, and more open. The found characteristics of male protagonists studied reflect representations of both ideal Thai and Chinese males. The ideal Thai males emphasizes family. For ideal Chinese males emphasizes nation and collective goals. Using a quasi-experimental approach, 80 third-year learners of a private university (HCU) and a public university (NRRU) were assigned to use either ChatGPT or Google Gemini for writing tasks. Pre- and post-intervention writing assessments, Technology Acceptance Model-inspired Likert-scale questionnaires, and semi-structured interviews were employed to measure writing ability gains, learner attitudes, and learning engagement. The results indicate that both tools effectively improved linguistic accuracy and essay structure, and Gemini was found to work better than ChatGPT in multimodal feedback and source integration, particularly among rural learners (p < .05, Cohen's d = 0.62). However, overdependence and plagiarism risk were cited as issues. Qualitative findings suggest increased learner confidence and motivation, but also require adjustment of implementation in rural areas because of cultural and technological constraints. This underscores AI's promise in EFL writing instruction, emphasizing instructor guidance and AI literacy in Thai contexts. Pedagogical implications include hybrid AI models for low-resource settings, with calls for further longitudinal research.
