การพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตผู้สูงอายุภายใต้การสนับสนุนของมูลนิธิโครงการเพื่อชีวิต (โครงการศูนย์นางรูธ)

Abstract

การศึกษาเรื่อง การพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตผู้สูงอายุภายใต้การสนับสนุนมูลนิธิโครงการเพื่อชีวิต (โครงการศูนย์นางรูธ) เป็นการวิจัยเชิงปริมาณ โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์คือ (1) เพื่อศึกษาระดับคุณภาพชีวิต ผู้สูงอายุ และ (2) เพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างโรคประจำตัว ความเพียงพอของรายได้และการเข้าร่วม กิจกรรมทางสังคมของผู้สูงอายุกับระดับคุณภาพชีวิตผู้สูงอายุ กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการศึกษาครั้งนี้ คือ ผู้สูงอายุภายใต้การสนับสนุนของมูลนิธิโครงการเพื่อชีวิต (โครงการศูนย์นางรูธ) เขตประเวศ กรุงเทพมหานคร จำนวน 175 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการศึกษา คือ แบบสอบถามเพื่อวัดคุณภาพชีวิต ผู้สูงอายุ จำนวน 6 ด้าน คือ ด้านสภาพร่างกายที่ดี ด้านสภาพความเป็นอยู่ที่ดี ด้านสภาพอารมณ์ที่ดี ด้านความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างบุคคล ด้านการรวมกลุ่มทางสังคม และด้านการตัดสินใจด้วยตนเอง การวิเคราะห์ ข้อมูลทั่วไปของกลุ่มตัวอย่างมีการใช้ค่าความถี่ ร้อยละ การวิเคราะห์ระดับคุณภาพชีวิตผู้สูงอายุโดยหา ความถี่ ค่าเฉลี่ย และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน การวิเคราะห์หาค่าความสัมพันธ์เพื่อทดสอบสมมติฐาน โดยใช้สถิติ ไค-สแควร์ (Chi-Square) กำหนดให้มีระดับนัยสำคัญ 0.05 ผลการศึกษา พบว่า (1) ระดับ คุณภาพชีวิตผู้สูงอายุในภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับค่อนข้างมาก โดยคุณภาพชีวิตด้านการตัดสินใจด้วยตนเอง เป็นด้านที่สูงที่สุด รองลงมาได้แก่ด้านสภาพอารมณ์ที่ดี ด้านสภาพความเป็นอยู่ที่ดี ด้านสภาพร่างกายที่ดี และด้านความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างบุคคล ด้านการรวมกลุ่มทางสังคมมีระดับคุณภาพชีวิตอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง (2) โรคประจำตัว ความเพียงพอของรายได้ และการเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมทางสังคม พบว่า ไม่มีความสัมพันธ์ ทางสถิติกับระดับคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุในภาพรวม ผลการศึกษาดังกล่าว ผู้ศึกษาเสนอแนะว่า (1) ภาครัฐ และทุกภาคส่วนที่เกี่ยวข้อง ควรเร่งให้ความรู้ความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับสังคมสูงวัย โดยเฉพาะผู้สูงอายุ ที่อยู่ในชุมชนแออัดในเขตเมือง เพื่อสร้างความตระหนักให้เกิดการเตรียมความพร้อมแก่ประชาชน (2) ภาครัฐ และทุกภาคส่วนที่เกี่ยวข้อง ควรร่วมมือประสานงานและพัฒนาเครือข่ายการทำงานที่เกี่ยวข้อง กับผู้สูงอายุให้เกิดความเข้มแข็ง (3) มูลนิธิโครงการเพื่อชีวิต (โครงการศูนย์นางรูธ) ควรให้การสนับสนุน ในการนำแนวทางการพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตผู้สูงอายุ ไปสู่การปฏิบัติกับผู้สูงอายุที่อยู่ภายใต้การสนับสนุน ของมูลนิธิฯ อย่างจริงจังและต่อเนื่องเพื่อการมีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดีของผู้สูงอายุ

This study explores the development of the quality of life for the elderly under support of the Project L.I.F.E. Foundation (Ruth Center). This is a quantitative research with the aim (1) to study the quality of life for the elderly and (2) to study the relation of medical problems, income adequacy and social participation of the elderly and the quality of life for the elderly. The sample group used in this study is the elderly under support of the Project L.I.F.E. Foundation (Ruth Center) in Prawet, Bangkok for 175 people. The tools consist of questionnaire to measure the quality of life for the elderly in 6 aspects including physical condition, living condition, temper condition, interpersonal relationship, social group and self-determination. The calculation for frequency and percentage are also applied with the general data analysis of the sample group. The quality of life for the elderly is analyzed by calculating frequency, mean, and standard deviation. Chi-square will be used for the correlation analysis to test hypothesis. The level of significance is defined at 0.05. The result describes that (1) the overall quality of life for the elderly is rather high. The quality of self-determination is the highest. Next aspects in lower level are temper condition, living condition, physical condition, and interpersonal relationship. The quality of social group is moderate. (2) Overall, medical problems, income adequacy and social participation have no statistical relation with the quality of life for the elderly. From the result of the study, the researcher suggests that (1) the government and all concerned should accelerate the public to be educated about aging society, especially the elderly in slum communities in downtown to become aware of preparation. (2) The government and all concerned should cooperate and develop working network related to the elderly to be forceful. (3) Project L.I.F.E. Foundation (Ruth Center) should support to apply the guideline of quality of life development in practice with the elderly under their support earnestly and continuously for a good quality of life.
