ชุดกี่เพ้ากับวิวัฒนาการการแต่งกายของชาวจีน

Abstract

ประเทศจีนเป็นประเทศที่มีอารยธรรมและวัฒนธรรมที่สืบทอดกันมายาวนานนับพันปี“กี่เพ้า” หรือ “ฉีผาว (旗袍)” ในภาษาจีนกลาง มาจาก “旗”ที่แปลว่า ธง และ“袍”ที่แปลว่า ชุดเสื้อคลุมยาว แต่ในประเทศไทยจะออกเสียงเป็น “ กี่เพ้า ” (เสียงอ่านภาษาแต้จิ๋ว) มีความหมายว่าชุดเสื้อคลุมยาว กี่เพ้าเป็นชุดประจําชาติจีนเป็นชุดแต่งกายจีนที่มีมาแต่สมัยโบราณ ได้รับการยกย่องเป็นมรดกทางวัฒนธรรมที่สําคัญของจีน ถือเป็นหนึ่งในเอกลักษณ์ทางวัฒนธรรมจีนที่โดดเด่น สังคมจีนในปัจจุบันกี่เพ้านับวันยิ่งมีความสําคัญและได้รับความนิยมในการสวมใส่มากขึ้น อีกทั้งยังมีการประยุกต์ให้เข้ากับแฟชั่นสมัยใหม่และการแต่งกายในชีวิตประจําวัน วิวัฒนาการของกี่เพ้าสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงแนวความคิดและวิถีการดําเนินชีวิตของคนจีนหลังยุคการเปลี่ยนแปลงการปกครองเป็นระบอบสังคมนิยม กี่เพ้าไม่ได้เป็นเพียงอาภรณ์ที่สวยงามเท่านั้น แต่ยังเป็นศาสตร์แห่งการแต่งกายและการตัดเย็บเสื้อผ้าที่สตรีจีนภาคภูมิใจมาโดยตลอด

China is a country with a civilization and culture that has been passed down for thousands of years by the “旗” (flag) “袍” (long robe), combined as “旗袍” (Qi Pao in Chinese Mandarin), but in Thailand it is pronounced as "Ki-pao" (as pronounced in Teochew Chinese), which means a long robe. The Qi Pao is the Chinese national costume. It is a Chinese dress that has existed since ancient times and regarded as an important cultural heritage of China. It is one of the reflections of an outstanding Chinese cultural identity. In today’s Chinese society, the Qi Pao is becoming more important and popular to wear as seen in its application and revival in modern fashion and everyday wear. The evolution of the Qi Pao reflects the concept and way of life of the Chinese people after the era of socialist rule transformation. Qi Pao is not only a beautiful dress, but most especially it is the science of dressing and sewing that Chinese women have always been proud of.
