International Chinese language textbooks serve as important mediums for conveying China's national image, making the study of the construction of this image within the textbooks significant. Taking the textbook "Developing Chinese" as an example, this paper explores several characteristics of self-construction of China's national image in the textbook: diversity and richness, positivity and confidence, openness and inclusiveness, inheritance and innovation, and cooperation and mutual benefit. Additionally, this paper analyzes several factors influencing the national image in the "Developing Chinese" textbook, including different social environments, content, difficulty, and specificity in describing the national image. Based on these findings, the author presents their reflections: 1. The aim of international Chinese education is to cultivate learners' ability to grasp the profound meaning of the Chinese language, understand Chinese values and thinking patterns, and truly appreciate the richness of Chinese culture and the unique charm of Chinese art. 2. Whether in the development of textbooks or the dissemination of the national image through textbooks, it is important to maintain China's dominant position and actively leverage its advantages.en
