Materials Assessment on Learning English Through Literature

Abstract

This analysis of Materials Assessments is based on Learning English Through Literature. Its aim is to be a model for the assessment of materials for the ESL beginning level teaching. This article points out the major parts, theme approaches, and activities in the textbook English, Yes!. It is designed into seven different layouts from different perspectives: stories, multiple choice exercises, Exercise To Help You, Adding Vocabulary, Grammar Section and an appendix of irregular verbs. There is no an absolutely perfect textbook. It depends on several factors: the types of classes, students’ levels of competency, and teaching methods.
