การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาประเพณีของคนไทยเชื้อสายจีนแต้จิ๋วในจังหวัดนครสวรรค์ การวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพที่ศึกษาข้อมูลจากเอกสาร (Documentary Research) และการเก็บข้อมูลภาคสนาม (Field Research) โดยใช้วิธีการสังเกตทั้งมีส่วนร่วมและไม่มีส่วนร่วม และใช้วิธีการสัมภาษณ์แบบมีโครงสร้าง อีกทั้งใช้วิธีการสัมภาษณ์แบบเจาะลึก (In-depth Interview) ไม่จำกัดคำตอบ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยการจัดกลุ่มเนื้อหาและนำเสนอข้อมูลแบบพรรณนาวิเคราะห์ ซึ่งเป็นข้อมูลที่มีรายละเอียดตรงที่ผู้วิจัยต้องการ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ประเพณีของคนไทยเชื้อสายจีนแต้จิ๋วในจังหวัดนครสวรรค์แบ่งออกเป็น 2 ประการ คือ ประเพณีเกี่ยวกับชีวิต มีทั้งประเพณีการเกิด ประเพณีการตั้งชื่อ ประเพณีการแต่งงาน ประเพณีแซยิด และประเพณีงานศพ และประเพณีเกี่ยวกับสังคม มีทั้งเทศกาลตรุษจีน เทศกาลเช็งเม้ง และเทศกาลกินเจ ผลการวิจัยยังพบว่า คนไทยเชื้อสายจีนแต้จิ๋วได้มีการสืบทอดประเพณีดังกล่าวจากบรรพบุรุษของตนได้เป็นอย่างดี แต่เมื่อพวกเขาอพยพมาดำเนินชีวิตในพื้นที่แห่งนี้ ประเพณีบางอย่างจึงได้เกิดการผสมผสานกับสังคมไทย
This research aimed to study the traditions of Chinese-Thai Teochew people in Nakhon Sawan province. This research is a qualitative research studying from documentations, and fieldwork study in the field by using participatory and non-participatory observation and in-depth interviews with sample. The research findings were reported as a descriptive analysis. The research findings that there are two traditions in life of Chinese-Thai Teochew people in Nakhon Sawan province. 1) The traditions, including birth, naming, marriage, sixtieth anniversary and funeral affairs. 2) Festivals, including Chinese New Year, Qingming, and Vegetarian festival. In addition, Chinese-Thai Teochew people in Nakhon Sawan province is still inheriting and spreading their own traditions. However, the annual Teochew people in Nakhon Sawan province is still inheriting and spreading their own traditions. However, the annual Teochew traditions have contributed by many change factors.
