ภาพแทนผู้หญิงในนวนิยายรางวัลชมนาดเรื่อง ไผ่ลายหยก

Abstract

บทความนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อวิเคราะห์ภาพแทนผู้หญิงในนวนิยายรางวัลชมนาดเรื่อง ไผ่ลายหยก โดยประยุกต์ใช้แนวคิดภาพแทนและสตรีนิยม การวิเคราะห์ตัวบทนวนิยายและนำเสนอผลการวิจัยเชิงพรรณนาวิเคราะห์ประกอบตาราง ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ผู้หญิงทุกคนในเรื่อง ไผ่ลายหยก ปฏิบัติตามกฎระบบปิตาธิปไตย ไม่ได้รับความเสมอภาค แต่เนื่องจากบริบททางสังคมมีการเปลี่ยนแปลง จึงมีการนำเสนอภาพแทนผู้หญิงในฐานะลูกสาวมีการเลื่อนฐานะในครอบครัวและสังคมได้ จากบทบาทสถานภาพการทำความดีกับทำให้ผู้หญิงมีความรู้ความสามารถเป็นผู้หญิงสมัยใหม่ โดยสามารถแบ่งภาพแทนออกเป็น 4 ฐานะดังนี้ 1) ในฐานะการเป็นลูกสาว คือ ลูกสาวต้องรับผิดชอบงานและหาเงินจุนเจือครอบครัว ต้องเชื่อฟังพ่อแม่ปฏิบัติกฎบ้านของคนไทยเชื้อสายจีนตามลัทธิขงจื้อ และได้รับโอกาสในการศึกษา มีความรู้ความสามารถ 2) ในฐานะลูกสะใภ้ต้องดูแลครอบครัวสามี ปฏิบัติตามกฎบ้านของสามี ไม่ได้รับสิทธิความเท่าเทียมในบ้านสามีและยังถูกแม่สามีรังเกียจ แต่กล้าตอบโต้กับสิ่งที่ไม่เป็นธรรม 3) ในฐานะภรรยา มีหน้าที่รับผิดชอบงานบ้าน ต้องกำเนิดลูกชายให้กับตระกูล ต้องเลี้ยงดูลูกและสามารถเลี้ยงครอบครัวด้วยตัวเองได้ 4) ในฐานะแม้ มีการนำเสนอแม่ใน 2 ลักษณะ คือ แม่ที่ดี คือ รักและปรารถนาดีต่อลูก วางแผนชีวิตที่ดีให้กับลูก และแม่ยอมรับการมีลูกสาวเห็นคุณค่าของลูกสาว กับแม่ที่ไม่ดีมีลักษณะโมโหร้าย ดุด่า เห็นลูกเป็นที่ระบายอารมณ์ บังคับลูกให้ทำตามใจตนเอง และทำพฤติกรรมที่ไม่เหมาะสมต่อหน้าลูก

The article aimed to analyze representations of women in Phai-lai-yok, a Chommanad awarded novel by applying the theory of representations and the feminism theory. Research findings were reported as a descriptive analysis with tables. The research found that all women in the studied novel conformed accordingly to rules of the patriarchal system. They were unequally treated. However, in the transforming social context, representations of the uplifted status of daughters in the family and society were shown. It was mainly caused by good conduct and education, making the daughters knowledgeable, capable and modern. Four representations of women were recognised, including 1) a daughter, responsible for housework and earning incomes for the family; obedient to parents and family rules; gaining education opportunity and improvement of knowledge and skills. 2) A daughter-in-law, responsible for taking care of the family of her spouse; conforming to household rules of her husband; being unequally treated and facing prejudices from the mother-in-law, yet being able to react to the injustice. 3) A wife, responsible for the housework; giving birth and raising an heir of the family; and self-reliant in supporting the family. 4) A mother, two representations were presented, including the good mother and the unkind mother. For the good one, she provided her children love; good care; good life plans; the acceptance of and values for a daughter. The unkind mother was bad-tempered; fierce; forceful; ill-treated her children and showing them improper behaviour.
