Abstract

ฟอร์มาลดีไฮด์เป็นสารในกลุ่มอัลตีไฮด์โดยปกติอยู่ในรูปก๊าซเนื่องจากเป็นสารรีดิวซ์ที่รุนแรงจึงเตรียมให้อยู่ในรูปของสารละลายฟอร์มาลีน ปัจจุบันมีการนำสารนี้ไปใช้ประโยชน์อย่างกว้างขวางทั้งด้านการแพทย์ ด้านอุตสาหกรรม ด้านความงาม ด้านการเกษตร และด้านอื่น ๆ ทำให้มีการเจือปนอยู่ในสิ่งแวดล้อมรอบตัวเรา วัตถุประสงค์ของบทความนี้นอกจากจะกล่าวถึงคุณลักษณะและประโยชน์ของสารฟอร์มาลดีไฮด์แล้ว ยังได้ทบทวนถึงปัจจัยเสี่ยงที่ทำให้บุคคลได้รับสารฟอร์ มาลดีไฮด์โดยเฉพาะการมีอาชีพที่ต้องสัมผัสโดยตรง และการได้รับสารจากการปนเปื้อนในวัสดุ อุปกรณ์ เครื่องใช้และอาหาร ที่ผ่านมามีรายงานสำรวจการปนเปื้อนสารฟอร์มาลดีไฮด์ในอาหารซึ่งให้ผลยังไม่ชัดเจนนัก อย่างไรก็ตามมีการศึกษาผลจากการได้รับสารฟอร์มาลดีไฮด์เข้าสู่ร่างกายพบว่า สารนี้ทำให้เกิดพยาธิสภาพต่ออวัยวะในระบบต่างๆ หลายระบบโดยเฉพาะระบบทางเดินหายใจ ระบบภูมิต้านทาน ระบบประสาท ระบบผิวหนัง ระบบทางเดินอาหาร และระบบสืบพันธุ์ เป็นต้น นอกจากนี้มีรายงานว่าสารนี้เป็นสาเหตุสำคัญของการเกิดมะเร็งโดยเฉพาะมะเร็งในระบบทางเดินหายใจ ปัจจุบันมีการตรวจวัดปริมาณสารฟอร์มาลดีไฮด์อยู่หลายวิธี ทั้งการตรวจคัดกรองและการตรวจปริมาณสารที่แน่นอนซึ่งมีประโยชน์ในการป้องกันการได้รับสารนี้เข้าสู่ร่างกาย จากการที่สารนี้มีอันตรายสูงจึงเป็นสารที่อยู่ในการควบคุมโดยกรมควบคุมโรงงานอุตสาหกรรมและกระทรวงสาธารณสุข โดยผู้ที่นำไปใช้ในทางที่ผิดจะได้รับโทษทางกฎหมาย

However, study of the effects of exposure to formaldehyde in the body found that this compound causes pathological changes in various organs, especially the respiratory, immune, nervous, skin, gastrointestinal and reproductive systems. In addition, it is reported that formaldehyde is the major cause of cancer, especially of the respiratory tract. Currently, there are several ways of measuring the concentration of formaldehyde in both the screening and quantitative detection that is useful in the prevention of exposure to the body. Since this substance is highly dangerous, so that is regulated by the Department of Industry and the Ministry of Health. Those who applied in the wrong will be punished by law.
