วิจัยเชิงสํารวจนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาปัญหาและพฤติกรรม รวมทั้งทัศนคติของผู้สูงอายุ ในชุมชนศีรษะจรเข้น้อยที่มีต่อยา ผลิตภัณฑ์เสริมอาหารและสมุนไพร โดยมีกลุ่มตัวอย่างคือผู้สูงอายุ ที่มีอายุ 60 ปีขึ้นไป อาศัยในตําบลศีรษะจรเข้น้อย โดยการสุ่มแบบตามสะดวกจํานวน 325 ราย เก็บข้อมูลด้วยการสัมภาษณ์โดยใช้แบบสอบถามที่ผู้วิจัยและผู้นําในชุมชนร่วมกันสร้างขึ้น ผลการวิจัยพบว่า กลุ่มตัวอย่างส่วนใหญ่ ร้อยละ 75.1 มีโรคประจําตัว โดยร้อยละ 57.4 มีโรคประจําตัวหนึ่งโรค โรคที่พบบ่อยสามอันดับแรก คือ โรคความดันโลหิตสูง โรคเบาหวาน และโรคไขมันในเลือดสูง ผู้สูงอายุร้อยละ 81.1 ระบุว่าสามารถควบคุมอาการของโรคได้ดี และดูแลการจัดยาด้วยตนเอง (ร้อยละ 63.1) ผู้สูงอายุ ร้อยละ 22.5 มียาเหลือใช้เมื่อถึงกําหนดพบแพทย์ ทั้งนี้พบปัญหาพฤติกรรมการใช้ยา เช่น การลืมรับประทานยา (ร้อยละ 35.7) การซื้อยาเพิ่มเอง (ร้อยละ 21.2) การปรับ ขนาดยา (ร้อยละ 9.6) และการแบ่งยากันรับประทาน (ร้อยละ 13.2) กลุ่มตัวอย่างใช้ยาแผนโบราณ ผลิตภัณฑ์เสริมอาหารและสมุนไพรเพื่อรักษาโรค จํานวนร้อยละ 19.1 ร้อยละ 14.2 และร้อยละ 62.2 ตามลําดับ โดยผู้แนะนําผู้สูงอายุให้ใช้ยาแผนโบราณและผลิตภัณฑ์เสริมอาหารเป็นสมาชิกในครอบครัวหรือเพื่อนบ้านและคนรู้จัก ในขณะที่การใช้สมุนไพรเป็นการใช้ตามคําแนะนําของเจ้าหน้าที่อนามัย และพยาบาล ทั้งนี้พบว่า ผู้สูงอายุเพียงร้อยละ 7.7 แจ้งให้แพทย์ที่ทําการรักษาทราบว่าได้ใช้ยาแผนโบราณ ผลิตภัณฑ์เสริมอาหารหรือสมุนไพรร่วมกับยาแผนปัจจุบัน และยังพบว่า กลุ่มผู้สูงอายุในชุมชนศีรษะจรเข้น้อยมีทัศนคติเชิงบวกต่อผลิตภัณฑ์สุขภาพ โดยเฉพาะยาแผนปัจจุบัน
The objective of this research was to study the medicine, food supplement, and herbal product usage problems and attitude toward these products among elderly samples (age over 60 years) in Tumbon Srisa Chorakhe Noi. Convenient sampling was performed to obtain 325 population samples. A questionnaire created by researchers and community leaders was used as data collecting tool. Most of the population samples, 75.1 percent have chronic health conditions, 57.4 percent have one chronic health condition. The three most common diseases in Srisa Chorakhe Noi community were hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemias. Health condition was under control at 81.1 percent and the elders at 63.1 percent could manage their own medicines. The population samples, 22.5 percent, had leftover medicines. Only few of them had some medication-related problems, for example, forgetting to take medicines, refilling medicines by themselves, self-adjusting of dose, and sharing medicines with others. 19.1 percent, 14.2 percent, and 62.2 percent of samples used traditional medicines, food supplements and medicinal plants, respectively by the advice of nonhealth team members, such as, family member, neighbors, acquaintances, while the medicinal plant usage was recommended by health center officers and nurses. 7.7 percent of samples informed physicians about traditional medicines and food supplements usage. Elderly population samples in Srisa Chorakhe Noi community have positive attitudes toward health products.
