Introduction: The purpose of this study was to examine effect of mobile phone improves uncontrolled diabetes outcome Methods: A quasi-experimental study pretest-posttest design was performed in patients with uncontrolled diabetes in Sao thong klang and Muang mai bangplee health promoting hospital, October to November 2015. Purposive sampling was used to recruit a sample of 19 from 37 patients. Research instruments consisted of a questionnaire and a mobile phone call reminder to take their medication and SMS to educate nutrition and exercise. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired t-test. Results: Assessed by pill count and drug compliance post-intervention were significantly higher than pre-intervention (pre intervention: 93.26±6.22%; post-intervention: 97.16±4.32%; p˂0.05). Pre- and post-intervention of FPG levels was not significantly different (pre-intervention: 155.11±20.09 mg/dl; post intervention: 153.105±31.99 mg/dl; p˃0.05). Pre- and post-intervention of knowledge was not significantly different (pre-intervention: 6.58±1.89 score; post-intervention: 7.26±1.48 score; p˃0.05). Conclusion: Even the feedback of phone reminder in taking antidiabetic drugs is very well cooperated, but it doesn’t make the blood sugar range of all patients (26.32%) reach to the supposed average, so it’s very necessary for the researchers to study for another solution to help the diabetic patients in order to control the result of blood sugar range and prevent them from risking of further complications.
