การออกเสียงพยัญชนะควบกล้ำสองเสียงท้ายคำภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยหัวเฉียวเฉลิมพระเกียรติ

Abstract

งานวิจัยนี้ผู้วิจัยมุ่งศึกษาการออกเสียงพยัญชนะควบกล้ำสองเสียงท้ายคำในภาษาอังกฤษของนักเรียนไทย โดยศึกษาพยัญชนะควบกล้ำสองเสียงท้ายคำ คือ /-mp/ /-ft/ /-sk/ /-lt/ /-ks/ และ /-nk/ ทั้งนี้เพื่อศึกษาว่า ผู้เรียนจะสามารถออกเสียงพยัญชนะควบกล้ำท้ายคำดังกล่าวได้ถูกต้องมากน้อยเพียงใดและพยัญชนะควบกล้ำชุดใดจะสามารถออกเสียงได้ง่ายที่สุด ทั้งก่อนและภายหลังจากที่ผู้เรียนได้รับการฝึกฝนการออกเสียงพยัญชนะควบกล้ำ 2 เสียงท้ายคำอย่างต่อเนื่อง ผู้วิจัยเลือกคำศัพท์ที่ใช้ทดสอบในหนังสือวิชาภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อการสื่อสาร 1 หนังสือ Touchstone Level 3 รวมทั้งสิ้น 30 คำ เก็บข้อมูลจากกลุ่มตัวอย่างซึ่งเป็นนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 1 มหาวิทยาลัยหัวเฉียวเฉลิมพระเกียรติที่ลงทะเบียนเรียนวิชาภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อการสื่อสาร 1 (English For Communication I) ในภาคการศึกษาที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2552 จำนวน 100 คน ผลการศึกษาพบว่าพยัญชนะควบกล้ำสองเสียงท้ายคำที่ผู้เรียนออกเสียงได้มากที่สุด คือ เสียง /-ks/ รองลงมา คือ /-nk/ /-mp/ /-lt/ /-ft/ และ /-sk/ ตามลำดับ นอกจากนี้ ยังพบว่ากลุ่มตัวอย่างละเสียงพยัญชนะควบกล้ำเสียงที่สอง โดยออกเสียงเฉพาะเสียงแรก

This study aims to analyze the pronounciation of double final consonants in English by Huachiew Chalermprakiet University students and to study the correctness in pronunciation of the six linguistic variables before and after practicing. The subjects are 100 first year students who enrolled in the English for communication 1 course in the second semester of the academic year 2009. They were asked to read 30 words selected from Touchstone Level 3 textbook. Each linguistic variable was recorded and analyzed by percentage. The results show the degrees of difficulty in pronuncing final clusters, ranked here from the easiest a stop followed by fricative /-ks/, a nasal followed by a stop /-nk/ and /-mp/, a lateral followed by a stop /-lt/, a fricative followed by a stop /-sk/. Moreover, it was found that the subjects pronounce the clusters as one sound, they pronounce the first consonant more than the second consonant.
