Abstract: | In recent years, the relationship between China and Thailand has become increasingly close, and a mutually beneficial cooperative relationship has been established with China. The demand for Chinese learning has also increased. In Thailand, the phenomenon of "Chinese fever" has formed, and Chinese has become Thailand's No. 1 language besides English. The survey found that Chinese language learners in Thailand like to watch Chinese film and television works, and documentaries are one of them. Among them, the documentary "A Bite of China" was first broadcast in 2012, and was translated into English, Thai, French, etc. and spread at home and abroad, becoming a phenomenon-level food culture documentary in China. At this stage, the demand for learning Chinese in Thailand is increasing day by day. It is an urgent need to provide more suitable and interesting learning methods for Chinese learners. Documentaries are characterized by recording real daily life, which are intuitive and interesting, and have great advantages when applied to Chinese language learning. This paper conducts a questionnaire survey of Chinese learners with HSK Chinese level three and above at Huachiew Chalermprakiet University in Thailand, and discusses the impact of Chinese documentaries on Chinese learners' language skills of "listening, speaking, reading, and writing" through statistical analysis. It briefly analyzes the Chinese cultural factors presented in "A Bite of China", and analyzes the value and advantages of the documentary in Chinese teaching through the language characteristics, multiple themes, civilian features and cultural connotations of the documentary. Then, from the four perspectives of teaching objectives, teaching objects, teaching content, and teaching principles, put forward feasible suggestions and teaching strategies for "A Bite of China" as an audio-visual teaching material, and also discuss the necessity of applying the documentary to teaching Chinese as a foreign language It is hoped that the research in this paper can provide reference value for Chinese language teaching. |
