การศึกษาเชิงวิเคราะห์สัญลักษณ์ทางพระพุทธศาสนาที่ปรากฏในยันต์ไทย

Abstract

ยันต์ หมายถึง การย่อเรื่องที่เกี่ยวข้องกับพุทธศาสนาและความเชื่ออื่นๆ ให้สั้นลงเพื่อสะดวกแก่การจดจำและ นำไปใช้ โดยสื่อผ่านรูปทรง ลายเส้น รูปภาพ อักขระ ตัวเลข คาถา ชื่อยันต์ และองค์ประกอบอื่นๆ ซึ่งพัฒนามาจากความเชื่อในคัมภีร์อถรรพเวทผ่านทางศาสนาพราหมณ์และพุทธศาสนาแบบมันตรยาน ผสมผสานกับความเชื่ออื่นๆ ในสังคมไทยจนกลายเป็นอัตลักษณ์ของยันต์ไทยตั้งแต่ยุคสุวรรณภูมิจนถึงปัจจุบัน รูปแบบของยันต์ไทยจะมีรูปทรงแบบเรขาคณิต คือ ทรงกลม สามเหลี่ยม สี่เหลี่ยม และรูปทรงอิสระที่มีอย่างหลากหลาย แต่ถ้ากล่าวถึงจุดมุ่งหมายของการใช้จะมี ๒ ประเภท คือ ยันต์ที่นำไปใช้ในทางที่ดี เช่น ป้องกันภัย ทำให้เกิดโชคลาภ เป็นต้น จัดเข้าในไสยศาสตร์ขาว และยันต์ที่นำไปใช้ในทางที่ไม่ดี เช่น ใช้ทำร้ายคนอื่นในฉิบหาย ใช้ทำเสน่ห์ให้หญิงชายหลงรัก เป็นต้น จัดเข้าในไสยศาสตร์ดำหรือมนต์ดำ

Yanta means the shortening of Buddhist and other stories so that they are easily remembered and applied. The stories are presented through shapes, lines, images, characters, figures, incantations, story titles, and other elements which developed from mystical incantation scriptures of Brahmanism and Mantrayana Buddhism, together with other local faiths, to form the identity of the Thai Yanta lity since the Suvarnabhumi era Thai Yanta is mostly geometrical in form, i.e., spherical, triangular, rectangular, and various other free forms. The purpose of their application can be divided into two categories: white magic with positive powers such as for defense and fortune, and black magic with negative powers such as for destruction or creating feelings of infatuation in others.
