Abstract

การค้าประเวณีและธุรกิจการค้าประเวณีในประเทศไทยปัจจุบันยังคงถือเป็นสิ่งที่ผิดกฎหมายและขัดต่อหลักศีลธรรม โดยกฎหมายได้กำหนดให้การค้าประเวณีและธุรกิจการค้าประเวณีเป็นความผิดและมีโทษในทางอาญากำกับไว้ในกฎหมายที่สำคัญด้วยกัน 2 ฉบับด้วยกัน ได้แก่ พระราชบัญญัติป้องกันและปราบปรามการค้าประเวณี พ.ศ. 2539 ที่เอาผิดทั้งผู้ค้าประเวณีและบุคคลที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการค้าประเวณีและในประมวลกฎหมายอาญาที่เอาผิดกับเฉพาะกับบุคคลที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการค้าประเวณี
