Abstract: Apitherapy, as one of the traditional and particular treatments of traditional Chinese medicine, is a method in which humans use bees’ aculei as needles to perform different methods of acupuncture according to the skins of meridian and acupuncture points to prevent diseases. The liquid in the bee needle is complex in composition and has many active substances. Scholars even have found that its ingredients can effectively protect cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, lower blood pressure, has anti-inflammatory, anti-analgesic and anti-arrhythmic effects, and improve cardiac functions and cerebral blood flow. The materials of apitherapy is easy to obtain and apitherapy is low in cost, simple in method and easy to operate. The exploration of the effecting mechanism of apitherapy and its influence on blood pressure provides a reliable basis for clinical treatment practices and is rationally applied to clinical research, which is worth our in-depth study and discussion.
