ความชุกของฮีโมโกลบินผิดปกติในบุคลากรมหาวิทยาลัยหัวเฉียวเฉลิมพระเกียรติ

Abstract

ได้ประเมินความชุกของฮีโมโกลบินผิดปกติในบุคลากรมหาวิทยาลัยหัวเฉียวเฉลิมพระเกียรติจำนวน 485 ราย พบว่าจำนวน 233 ราย มีความผิดปกติเมื่อทดสอบด้วยวิธี osmotic fragility (OF test) และ dichlorophenol indophenol test (DCIP test) เมื่อนำเลือดที่มีความผิดปกติดังกล่าวไปทดสอบหาชนิดของฮีโมโกลบินด้วยวิธี cellulose acetate electrophoresis และตรวจหาปริมาณฮีโมโกลบิน A2 ด้วยวิธี elution technique พบว่าเป็น Hb EA, Hb EE, β-thalassemia carrier และ Hb A AH เท่ากับ 145 (29.8%), 25 (5.2%) , 8 (1.6%) และ 3 (0.6%) ราย ตามลำดับ ในขณะที่จำนวน 52 ราย (10.7%) ไม่สามารถวิเคราะห์ได้แน่ชัดว่าเป็นความผิดปกติชนิดใด อาจเป็น α-thalassemia carrier หรือฮีโมโกลบินผิดปกติชนิดอื่น ๆ

Prevalence of hemoglobinopathies was investigated in 485 Huachiew Chalermprakiet University’s personnels. It was found that 233 cases were abnormal as assessed by osmotic fragility test (OF test) and dichlorophenol indophenol test (DCIP test). All positive tests above were analyzed for hemoglobin typing by cellulose acetate electrophoresis and hemoglobin A2 was quantitatively analyzed by an elution technique. It was shown that Hb EA, Hb EE, β-thalassemia carrier and Hb A2 AH were detected to be 145 (29.8%), 25 (5.2%) , 8 (1.6%) and 3 (0.6%) samples, respectively, whereas 52 (10.7%) samples would not be analyzed clearly, suggesting α-thalassemia carrier or other thalassemic cases.
