The research findings are: first, relating to the style five characteristics of Thai abbreviations are found, which are 1) using the first alphabet of each word with periods (punctuation), 2) using the first alphabet of some syllables with compound words, 3) cutting short the full words and adding a period or the omitting-word sign (ฯ) 4) using abbreviations with numbers, and 5) using English short words. For Chinese abbreviations, there also are 5 styles : 1)the compressed abbreviations, mixing key parts of characters (words) 2) partly omitting, using some parts of the word, 3) using abbreviations with numbers, 4) using the first pin-in sound, and 5) using English short words.
