en_US
This study investigates the practical use of Chinese language services in Han-he Non-Ferrous Metals Import and Export Trading Company. A mixed-methods approach, including questionnaires and in-depth interviews, was employed. Data were collected from 30 employees and 10 managers and customer representatives. The findings indicate that Chinese plays a crucial role in order processing, business negotiations, and logistics communication, with more than 85% of respondents recognizing its importance in daily business operations. In addition, 40% (12 respondents) reported experiencing difficulties in Chinese communication at work, 63.3% (19 respondents) believed that difficulties in understanding specialized terminology affected their work efficiency, and 56.7% (17 respondents) considered cultural differences to have a negative impact on business communication. The study found that inadequate understanding of industry-specific terms such as “anode copper” and “aluminum ingot,” as well as insufficient awareness of business etiquette, were major factors affecting the quality of Chinese language services. Therefore, this study recommends strengthening Business Chinese training, establishing a Chinese–Thai bilingual terminology database, and enhancing intercultural communication competence in order to improve language service quality and communication efficiency in international trade.en_US
