Abstract:
The controversy surrounding Peppa Pig has sparked discussions and raised concerns among parents of young viewers of the animated show. Previous studies have indicated that the show portrays instances of pain, brutality, and violence, which can be alarming for some. However, there is also a promising perspective where some studies have reported that Peppa Pig could serve as an effective English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teaching tool for early language learners. It is suggested that the show should be incorporated into the teaching process by content and curriculum creators. This study aims to analyze a corpus of 166 episode transcripts of the animated series Peppa Pig, comprehensively extracting and examining the linguistic features present within them. The findings of this study will make a valuable contribution to our understanding of language development in this digital age.
