ถึงแม้ว่าร้อยละ 5-15 ของโรคคออักเสบที่เกิดจากเชื้อกลุ่ม Group A streptococcus (GAS) แต่ยังมีผู้ป่วยที่ไม่สามารถใช้ยาปฏิชีวนะได้อย่างถูกต้อง ส่งผลให้เกิดปัญหาเชื้อดื้อยา วัตถุประสงค์เพื่อสำรวจความรู้ เกี่ยวกับการใช้ยาปฏิชีวนะเมื่อมีอาการคออักเสบของนักศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยหัวเฉียวเฉลิมพระเกียรติ ซึ่งเป็นการวิจัยเชิงสำรวจ ระหว่างเดือนสิงหาคม-ตุลากคม ปี พ.ศ. 2567 กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ นักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยหัวเฉียวเฉลิมพระเกียรติ โดยเก็บข้อมูลด้วยแบบสอบถามทางออนไลน์ (Google form)
กลุ่มตัวอย่าง 1,077 คน ส่วนใหญ่เป็นเพศหญิง คิดเป็นร้อยละ 81.9 อายุเฉลี่ย 20.5 +- 2.2 ปี และรายได้ต่อเดือนส่วนใหญ่อยู่ในช่วง 5,000-10,000 บาท (ร้อยละ 44.3) ในด้านความรู้ที่มีข้อคาถม 10 ข้อ เมื่อคำนวณคะแนนทั้ง 10 ข้อ และปรับเป็นร้อยละ พบว่า กลุ่มตัวอย่างมีคะแนนรวมเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ ร้อยละ 55 และมี 4 ข้อคำถามความรู้ที่ได้คะแนนเฉลี่ยต่ำ ได้แก่ “ยาปฏิชีวนะสามารถรักษาอาการคออักเสบจากการติดเชื้อไวรัสได้” (ร้อยละ 32) “อาการเจ็บคอ คอแดงจำเป็นต้องใช้ยาปฏิชีวนะ” (ร้อยละ 46) “เมื่อมีน้ำมูก หรือเสมหะเป็นสีเขียวเหลืองไม่จำเป็นต้องใช้ยาปฏิชีวนะ” และ “เมื่อมีการติดเชื้อแบคทีเรียในลำคอสามารถหายเองได้โดยไม่จำเป็นต้องใช้ยาปฏิชีวนะ” (ที่มีคะแนนเฉลี่ยเท่ากัน คือ ร้อยละ 47)
สรุปจากการศึกษา พบว่า นักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยหัวเฉียวเฉลิมพระเกียรติ มีความรู้เกี่ยวกับการใช้ยาปฏิชีวนะเมื่อมีอาการคออักเสบในระดับปานกลาง โดยเฉพาะความรู้เกี่ยวกับการใช้ยาปฏิชีวนะในโรคหวัด เจ็บคอ จึงควรรณรงค์ให้ความรู้ที่ถูกต้องในการใช้ยาปฏิชีวนะเมื่อมีอาการคออักเสบ
Although only 5-15% of sore throat infections are caused by Group A streptococcus (GAS), there are many patients who use antibiotics inproperly. As a result, the problem of drug resistance. The objective was to survey the knowledge about the use of antibiotics when experiencing sore throat symptoms of students of Huachiew Chalermprakiet University. The exploratory research was conducted between August and October 2024. The samples were students of Huachiew Chalermprakiet University. Online questionnaires vis Google form were used to collect data. There were 1,077 participants, mostly female, accounted for 81.9%, with an average age of 20.5+-2.2 years, and most of the monthly income was in the range of 5,000-10,000 baht, 44.3%. The questionnaires contained 10 questions that calculate to percentage. The average score of these 10 questions was 55% from total score of 100%. There were 4 questions with lowest average score such as, “antibiotic can cure viral pharyngitis” (average score 32%), “the symptom of sore throat and red throat need antibiotics” (average score 46%), “if there are green runny nose & green sputum, it no need to use antibiotics” (average score 47%), and “when there is a bacterial infection in the throat, it can heal on its own without the need for antibiotics” (average score 47%). In conclusion, the students of Huachiew Chalermprakiet University students have moderate knowledge level on antibiotics use in sore throat, especially the symptom of sore throat from common cold. Thus, it should set campaigns to educate the correct use of antibiotics in sore throat.
