Abstract:
The ultimate goal of this paper is to attempt to discuss how to produce highly competitive graduates that matches and addresses the needs and goals of the ASEAN Economic Community Era. Departing from an operationalized definition of competitiveness, the paper reflects on Cameron Evan’s four key skills that students may need if they want to succeed in the new global economy. Then the skills are lined to the prevailing national, regional and international issues and concepts in higher learning, taking case of the Faculty of Liberal Arts of Huachiew Chalermprakiet University as a specific case. While the paper is far from exhaustive and is only preliminary, it is hoped provide a pathway from which other educational instructional may challenge, debate, and discuss with noble goal of creating highly competitive graduates with international calibre.
