《雷雨》与《画中情思》女主人公形象比较研究

Abstract

本文将以二十世纪三四十年代中泰两国的著名作家曹禺和西巫拉帕为代表，对其作品《雷雨》和《画中情思》中的女主人公形象进行比较研究。《雷雨》和《画中情思》这两部几乎产生于同一时期的作品，成功地塑造了在人生经历和悲剧结局都存在极大相似性的女性形象——蘩漪和吉拉娣。同时它们也都对女性的悲剧命运给予了深刻的同情，是两部关注女性命运的优秀文学作品。蘩漪和吉拉娣自从诞生之日起，就分别成为中泰文学史上极具代表性的悲剧女性形象之一，将她们的悲剧放置于历史、社会的平台上进行分析，进而比较两部作品中女主人公形象的“同”与“异”，可以使我们更客观、更准确地认识这些悲剧的女性，更清楚地了解中泰两国各自文化的特殊性，对探寻整个人类文学的共同规律和美学价值也有相当的意义。 本文将运用平行研究的方法进行研究，第一章将从两位作家的文化修养、生活经历、思想道德及国内外环境等方面来分析两部作品的创作背景。第二章从艰难的生存境况、复杂的性格及悲剧性的命运三个方面来分析两位女主人公的相似之处，并对造成这种相似性的原因进行探析。但由于作者受本民族文化的熏陶，更受其所处时代社会的影响，所以他们笔下的人物形象不可能完全相同，故本论文第三章集中从处世态度及觉醒程度的差异来比较两位女主人公形象的相异之处，从而分析造成这种差异现象的原因之所在。

วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้เป็นการศึกษาเปรียบเทียบภาพลักษณ์นางเอกในนวนิยายเรื่อง “เหลยอวี่” กับเรื่อง “ข้างหลังภาพ” ซึ่งผู้ประพันธ์คือเฉาอี่และศรีบูรพา ทั้งสองท่านนี้ล้วนเป็นนักเขียนที่มีชื่อเสียงของจีนและไทยในยุคทศวรรษที่ 30 – 40 เรื่อง “เหลยอวี่” กับเรื่อง “ข้างหลังภาพ” เขียนขึ้นในเวลาที่ใกล้เคียงกัน ทั้งสองเรื่องนี้ได้บรรจงสร้างตัวนางเอกฝานอีและกีรติที่มีประสบการณ์ชีวิตและความอาภัพในบั้นปลายชีวิตที่คล้ายคลึงกันมาก ในขณะเดียวกัน นวนิยาย ทั้งสองเรื่องนี้ได้แสดงความเห็นใจต่อชะตาชีวิตอันน่าเศร้าสลดหดหู่ของสตรีเหมือนกัน จึงนับได้ว่าเป็นวรรณกรรมดีเด่นที่ให้ความสาคัญต่อชะตากรรมของสตรีเช่นเดียวกัน นับตั้งแต่เฉาอวี่และ ศรีบูรพาได้สร้างตัวละครฝานอีกับกีรติขึ้นมา ตัวละครทั้งสองนี้ก็ได้กลายเป็นหนึ่งในภาพลักษณ์ของสตรีผู้อาภัพของวรรณกรรมจีนและไทย สาหรับการวิเคราะห์โศกนาฏกรรมที่เกิดกับตัวละครดังกล่าว ใช้วิธีการเปรียบเทียบภูมิหลังหลังทางประวัติศาสตร์และสังคม โดยเปรียบเทียบในด้านที่เหมือนกันและต่างกัน ด้วยวิธีการเช่นนี้ จะสามารถทำให้เข้าใจถึงสภาพของสตรีที่ต้องเผชิญกับโศกนาฏกรรมในเชิงภาวะวิสัย และสามารถเข้าใจลักษณะพิเศษของวัฒนธรรมจีนกับไทยได้อย่างชัดเจนขึ้น ซึ่งจะมีนัยสาคัญต่อการศึกษากฎร่วมและคุณค่าด้านสุนทรียศาสตร์ของโลกวรรณกรรม วิทยานิพนธ์ฉบับนี้ ใช้วิธีการเปรียบเทียบเชิงคู่ขนาน โดยแบ่งเนื้อหาเป็น 3 บทด้วยกัน คือ บทที่ 1 วิเคราะห์เปรียบเทียบภูมิหลังของการสร้างสรรค์นวนิยายทั้งสองเรื่อง โดยเปรียบเทียบด้านต่าง ๆ ของผู้ประพันธ์ทั้งสอง เช่น การศึกษาประสบการณ์ชีวิตแนวความคิดและคุณธรรม ความเชื่อถือต่าง ๆ ตลอดจนสังคมของประเทศจีนและไทยเป็นต้น บทที่ 2 เป็นการเปรียบเทียบความคล้ายคลึงกันของตัวนางเอกในบทประพันธ์ทั้งสองเรื่อง โดยทำการเปรียบเทียบในสามด้านด้วยกันคือ การดำเนินชีวิตท่ามกลางความยากแค้นทุกข์เข็ญลักษณะอุปนิสัยและอารมณ์ความรู้สึกที่ซับซ้อน ตลอดจนโศกนาฏกรรมที่ต้องพบเจอ และนำข้อมูลทั้งหมดนี้ทำการประมวลและวิเคราะห์ เพื่อค้นหาลักษณะความคล้ายคลึงกันของตัวนางเอกทั้งสอง แต่เนื่องจากนักเขียนทั้งสองท่านนี้ ต่างก็มีวิถีชีวิตและได้รับอิทธิพลทางวัฒนธรรมที่แตกต่างกัน อีกทั้งเงื่อนไขของยุคสมัยทางสังคมที่ไม่เหมือนกัน ดังนั้น ภาพลักษณ์ของตัวละครที่เกิดจากปลายปากกาของนักเขียนทั้งสองท่านนี้ จึงเป็นไปไม่ได้ที่จะเหมือนกันอย่างสิ้นเชิง ด้วยเหตุนี้เพื่อให้การเปรียบเทียบมีความชัดเจนขึ้น ในบทที่ 3 จึงมีเนื้อหาในส่วนของการวิเคราะห์เปรียบเทียบ และค้นหาสาเหตุของความแตกต่างของ ตัวนางเอกด้วย โดยเน้นการเปรียบเทียบความแตกต่างในเรื่องของทัศนะการมองโลกและสังคม และความตื่นตัวทางสังคมของตัวนางเอกทั้งสองคือฝานอีและกีรติ

The purpose of this paper is to make a comparison between the characters in two novels namely “Lei Yu” and “Behind the Painting”. “Lei Yu” is a work of fiction by a Chinese author by the name of Cao Yu, while “Behind the Painting” is also a work of fiction by a Thai author by the name of Sriburabha. Both Cao Yu and Sriburabha were famous authors representing the Chinese and Thai literatures, respectively, between the years 1930 and 1940. And, both the works of fiction by these authors were published around the same year. In these novels, both the authors introduced female characters, Fan Yi in the Cao Yu’s novel “Lei Yu”, and Kirati in Sriburabha’s novel “Behind the Painting”. Both the characters in the two novels were comparable to each other in terms of life experience and a tragic ending. These two novels were graded as excellent works of literature as both the fictional stories expressed sympathy to the tragic fates of the female characters. It can be stated here that since the birth of these two fictional characters, both Fan Yi and Jirati have been known to be the most famous female characters with a tragic image in the history of the Chinese and Thai literature. After analyzing the two characters of these tragic stories for historical and social layers so as to identify the similarities and differences between the two works of fiction, it can be noticed that the tragedies of the female characters not only can be understood objectively and accurately, but also provides a further insight into the particularities of the Chinese and Thai cultures individually that is significant to the search for universal rules of human literature and aesthetical value. This paper adopts the “Parallel Research Approach” to conduct the analysis. The first chapter analyzes the backgrounds of the two novels from the very beginning on the aspects of cultural accomplishment, life experiences, and domestic and international environments. The second chapter focuses not only on the similarities of the two characters in terms of difficult survival conditions, their complicated characteristics and tragic fates, but also further explores and analyzes the causes of their similarities. However, due to the influence from the author’s own culture, era, and society, the image of the characters in the two works of fiction are not exactly the same. Therefore, the third chapter focuses on the differences in living attitude and awakening level of the two characters in order to compare the differences and finally analyze and conclude the reasons that caused such differences.
