“เทพสามตา” ที่คนไทยเรียกขาน แท้จริงนั้นหมายถึงเทพเจ้าจีนองค์ใดบ้าง? และตัวอย่างศาลเจ้าที่บูชาเทพสามตาในประเทศไทย

Abstract

เมื่อเอ่ยถึงเทพเจ้าจีนที่คนไทยเรียกขานกันว่า “เทพสามตา” ในความรับรู้ของคนส่วนใหญ่คงนึกถึงเทพสามตาเอ้อร์หลางเสิน เนื่องจากเอ้อร์หลางเสินมีบทบาทสำคัญในนิยายจีนโบราณที่มีชื่อเสียงหลายเรื่อง เช่น เรื่องไซอิ๋ว และห้องสิน เป็นต้น วัตถุประสงค์ของการศึกษานี้เพื่อระบุให้ชัดเจนว่า “เทพสามตา” ที่คนไทยเรียกขาน แท้จริงแล้วหมายถึงเทพเจ้าจีนองค์ใดบ้าง โดยการสำรวจเอกสารและข้อมูลทางอินเทอร์เน็ต หนังสือ และงานวิจัยที่เกี่ยวข้อง และการลงพื้นที่สำรวจศาลเจ้าจีนที่บูชาเทพสามตาบางแห่งในประเทศไทย จากการศึกษา พบว่า “เทพสามตา” ที่คนไทยเรียกขาน หมายถึงเทพเจ้าจีนอย่างน้อยสามองค์ ดังนี้ เทพสามตา “เอ้อร์หลางเสิน” เทพสามตา “เหยียนกวงต้าตี้ (เทพเจ้าไฟ เหยียนตี้ หรือหั่วตี้)” และ “เทพสามตา” “หัวกวงต้าตี้ (เทพเจ้าไฟ หั่วเสิน)” ผู้เขียนยังได้ค้นคว้าตำนานที่มาของเทพเจ้าจีนเทพเจ้าจีนทั้งสามองค์ดังกล่าว และสำรวจพบว่ามีศาลเจ้าจีนที่ประดิษฐานรูปเคารพบูชาเทพเจ้าทั้งสามองค์อยู่หลายแห่งในประเทศไทย มีทั้งที่เทพสามตาเป็นเทพประธานของศาลเจ้า และเป็นเทพองค์รอง ส่วนใหญ่เป็นศาลเจ้าเก่าแก่ที่อยู่คู่ชุมชนชาวจีนแต่ละท้องถิ่นมายาวนาน ผู้เขียนเห็นว่า คนในชุมชนต่างๆ ควรจะศึกษา ประวัติที่มาของศาลเจ้าในท้องถิ่น และเทพเจ้าองค์ต่างๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้อง เพื่อประโยชน์ต่อชุมชนแต่ละแห่งในด้านการเสริมสร้างอัตลักษณ์ของท้องถิ่น ส่งเสริมคุณค่า และบูรณาการของวัฒนธรรมไทย-จีนในชุมชน สามารถต่อยอดสร้างมูลค่าเพิ่มในการท่องเที่ยวเชิงวัฒนธรรม เป็นการพัฒนาท้องถิ่นอย่างยั่งยืนสืบไป

When Thai people mention about the Chinese god that called “Three-eyed god”, most of people may think about Three-eyed god “Erlang Shen” because Erlang Shen played the important role in some famous Chinese ancient novels such as Journey to the West and Investiture of the Gods etc. The aim of this study is to identify that which Chinese gods are called “Three-eyed god” by Thai people? The methodology used in this study are offline and online document research method and field study method. The study found that the Chinese gods that called “Three-eyed god” by Thai people actually refer to at least these three gods: Three-eyed god “Erlang Shen”, Three-eyed god “Yanguang Dadi (the god of free aka Yandi or Huodi)” and Three-eyed god “Huanguang Dadi (the god of fire aka Huoshen)”. Author also studied about the legends of these three Chinese gods, and also found that there are many Chinese shrines in Thailand which worship these gods, they are master god of some shrines and deputy god in some other shrines. Most of these shrines have been stayed along with the Thai Chinese communities for a long time. Author’s opinion is people in each community should study about the shrine and relevant gods in the communities, in order to the benefit of each local community should study about the shrine and relevant gods in the communities, in order to the benefit of each local community’s self identify, promote the value and the Chinese-Thai cultural integration of each community, these should be develop to cultural tourism’s value added and the local communities’ sustainable development in the future.
