ได้ทำการสำรวจหาอัตราการปนเปื้อนของพยาธิในผักสดชนิดที่นิยมรับประทานดิบ จากตลาด 8 แห่งครอบคลุมโดยรอบอำเภอบางพลี จังหวัดสมุทรปราการในระหว่างเดือนพฤษภาคม ถึงเดือนสิงหาคม 2539 ตรวจผักสด 5 ชนิด ๆ ละ 40 ตัวอย่าง รวม 200 ตัวอย่าง โดยวิธีการตกตะกอนด้วยสารละลาย 4% ไลปอน-เอฟ ใน 0.85% NaCI พบว่ามีการปนเปื้อนของพยาธิ เป็นตัวอ่อนของพยาธิชนิดที่ไม่พบความสำคัญทางการแพทย์ 45% และไข่ของพยาธิชนิดที่ไม่พบความสำคัญทางการแพทย์ 45% และไข่ของพยาธิชนิดที่ไม่พบความสำคัญทางการแพทย์ 37.5% และตัวไร 4.5% ผักที่มีการปนเปื้อนมากที่สุด คือ สะระแหน่ (100%) รองลงมา คือ ผักชี (90%) ต้นหอม (68%) ผักกาดขาว (30%) และผักกาดหอม (17.5%) และตรวจพบการปนเปื้อนมากที่สุดในผักสดที่นำมาจากตลาดเทพประทาน (80%) รองลงมา คือ ตลาดเมืองใหม่และบางพลีนคร (68%) ตลาดด่านศรีนครินทร์ (64%) ตลาดบางพลีใหญ่ (60%) ตลาดหน้าโรงงานแฟรงค์และตลาดโรงพยาบาลเซ็นทรัลปาร์ค (52%) และตลาดไทยประกัน (44%)
A survey of parasitic contamination on fresh vegetables from 8 markets in Bangplee District, Samutprakran province was carried out during May-August 1996. Two hundred samples of five kind fresh vegetable i.e. Lettuce, green lettuce, parsleys, spring onions and peppermints were examined by using sedimentation technique (in 4% Lipon-F detergent-0.85% NaCI solution). It was found that 122 of vegetable samples (61.0%) were contaminated with parasite which are unidentified nematode larve (Non-Medical Important) (45.0%), unidentified eggs (Non-Medicak important) (37.5%) and arthropods (4.5%). The prevalences of contamination was 100% in peppermints, 90% in parsleys, 68% in spring onions, 38% in lettuce and 17.5% in green lettuce, vegetables from Teppratan Market was the most contamination (80%) followed with Maung Mai Bangplee and Bangplee Nakon Market (68%) Dan-Sri-Nakarin Market (64%), Bangplee-Yai Market (60%) Fank-Factory and Central Park Hospital Market (52%) and Tep-Pratan Market (44%)
