การเล่นหมากรุกจีนในสังคมไทย : ภูมิหลังและพัฒนาการ

Abstract

งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อศึกษาประวัติความเป็นมาและพัฒนาการของการเล่น หมากรุกจีนในสังคมไทย 2) เพื่อวิเคราะห์บทบาทหน้าที่ของการเล่นหมากรุกจีน โดยเฉพาะกลุ่มเยาวชน งานวิจัยนี้เป็นงานวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพโดยใช้การสัมภาษณ์เป็นเครื่องมือในการเก็บข้อมูลเบื้องต้นจากผู้เล่นหมากรุกจีนในสังคมไทย โดยใช้กลุ่มตัวอย่างในเขตกรุงเทพมหานคร เลือกกลุ่มตัวอย่างแบบเฉพาะเจาะจง จำนวน 26 คน เก็บข้อมูลจากการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก และนำเสนอผลการวิจัยแบบพรรณนาวิเคราะห์ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ประวัติการเล่นหมากรุกจีนในสังคมไทยยังไม่มีการบันทึกเป็นลายลักษณ์อักษร วัฒนธรรมนี้เข้ามาสู่ยุคประเทศไทย 70-80 ปีมาแล้วจากการอพยพของคนจีน แต่การเปลี่ยนแปลงสังคมไทยและสังคมโลก เป็นสาเหตุให้หมากรุกจีนมีความเจริญและความเสื่อมถอยในบางช่วง ในปี 2555 สมาคมหมากรุกจีน (เซี่ยงฉี) แห่งประเทศไทยได้เข้ามาดูแลและต่อมาได้รับการส่งเสริมสนับสนุนอย่างเป็นทางการจากการกีฬาแห่งประเทศไทย (กกท.) คุณสมบัติสำคัญของการเล่นหมากรุกจีนช่วยฝึกทักษะ ความคิด การวางแผน ทำให้ผู้เล่นมีความสุขุม รอบคอบ อีกทั้งช่วยสร้างความรัก ความสามัคคีแก่ผู้เล่น นอกจากนี้ยังเป็นนันทนาการที่ช่วยอนุรักษ์วัฒนธรรมจีน สิ่งสำคัญคือ มีแนวโน้มได้รับการส่งเสริมให้มีการจัดการแข่งขันหมากรุกจีนในสถาบันการศึกษา เพื่อเป็นทางเลือกหนึ่งที่ใช้ต่อต้านอบายมุขทุกประเภทในหมู่เยาวชนไทย

The purpose of this research's to study the background and development of Chinese Chess in Thai society and to analyze the role of Chinese chess in Thai society, especially in youth. This qualitative research uses the interviweing as the tool for collecting the infomation from the Chinese Chess players in Bangkok area and presented in descriptive analysis. The research reveals that the written record of Chinese Chess's history does not exist even though this culture came to Thailand since the immigration of Chinese people 70-80 years ago. However, Thai and global society change constantly, Chinese chess faces the growth and the decline sometimes. Untils 2012, Chinese chess under supervision of the Xiangqi Association of Thailand is officially supported by Sport Authority of Thailand (SAT) because of the outstanding qualification of Chinese chess which sharpen the player's skills, thinking, planning and intelligence, including creating love and unity. In additions, Chinese chess is the recreation which conserves Chinese culture. The important thing is that Chinese chess trends to be encouraged to become the competition among academic institutes as the alternative against all temptation in Thai youth.
