มีรายงานปฏิกิริยาการแตกทำลายของเม็ดเลือดแดงในผู้ป่วยหมู่ B ที่ได้รับเกล็ดเลือดหมู่ A จากผู้บริจาคเกล็ดเลือดที่มีไตเตอร์ anti-B สูงจากการบริโภคโปรไบโอติก ปริมาณมา จุดประสงค์ของงานวิจัยครั้งนี้ คือ เพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างการบริโภคโปรไบโอติกกับระดับไตเตอร์ anti-A และ anti-B โดยเปรียบเทียบระหว่างก่อนและหลังการบริโภคโปรไบโอติกในรูปนมเปรี้ยวของกลุ่มตัวอย่างจํานวน 16 ราย และเปรียบเทียบระดับไตเตอร์ของ anti-A และ Anti-B ระหว่างกลุ่มผู้บริจาคโลหิตที่บริโภคโปรไบโอติกและไม่ได้บริโภคโปรไบโอติกกลุ่มละ 50 ราย ซีรั่มจากตัวอย่างทั้งหมดถูกรวบรวมตามระยะเวลาต่างๆ และนำมาตรวจหาระดับไตเตอร์ของ anti-A และ Anti-B ชนิด IgM ด้วยวิธี column agglutination technique (CAT) ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ระดับไตเตอร์ anti-A และ anti-B ก่อนและหลังการบริโภคโปรไบโอติกของกลุ่มตัวอย่างจํานวน 16 ราย ไม่มีความแตกต่างกันอย่างมีนัยสําคัญทางสถิติ (p ≥ 0.05) ในกลุ่มผู้บริจาคโลหิต พบว่ามีเพียง anti-B ของผู้บริจาคหมู่ A เท่านั้นที่ผู้บริโภคโปรไบโอติกให้ค่าไตเตอร์สูงกว่าผู้ที่ไม่ได้บริโภคอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (p=0.037) ทั้งนี้อาจเกิดจากปัจจัยหล่ายอย่าง เช่น ภูมิคุ้มกันของในผู้ใหญ่อาจไม่ตอบสนองต่อโปรไบโอติกที่ได้รับโดยการบริโภค (oral immunotolerance) ชนิดของสายพันธุ์จุลินทรีย์ที่ได้รับ ระยะเวลาที่ถูกกระตุ้น และความสามารถของระบบภูมิคุ้มกันในกรตอบสนองต่อโปรไบโอติกที่แตกต่างกันในคนหมู่เลือด A,B และ O ซึ่งจะต้องมีการศึกษาในเชิงลึกต่อไป
PLT-mediated HTRs in group B patient associated with the group A plateletpheresis component, collected from a high anti-B titer donor taking high does of probiotics are reported. The aim of this study was to investigate the relation of the consumption of probiotics and anti-A and anti-B titers level. Anti-A and anti-B in 16 subjects were compared before and after consuming probiotic yogurt. Fifty subjects of each blood donors who consumed and did not consume probiotics were studied as well. Serum was collected and test for anti-A and anti-B titer using column agglutination technique (CAT). The results showed that there was no statistically significant difference (p >= 0.05) titer level of anti-A and anti-B in 16 subjects before and after consuming probiotics. For blood donors, only the average titer of anti-B in group A donors who consumed probiotics was statistically significant higher than those who did not consume probiotics (p=0.037). The results suggested that the consumption of probiotics had no effect on the anti-A and anti-B titers level, except in group A donors. This might come from several factors such as the adult immune system might not respond to probiotics received from eating (oral immunotolerance), a variety of probiotics, the period of time of immunization and the received probiotics might have different effects on the immune system of each blood group which further studies might be needed.
