The accumulations of petrochemical plastic waste in the environment are increasing and disposal generates several environmental problems Petrochemical plastic wastes take a long time to degrade in the environment. In order to find alternative materials, researchers have developed fully biodegradable plastic. Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) have properties to plastic which produced from petroleum. The effect of cost in PHAs production was still a problem because the using high price of carbon source for production. This research had interested in waste from industrial factory such as molasses, crude glycerol and waste oil as a carbon source for PHAs production by using Allochromatium vinosum 16-11 and Allochromatium vinosum 30-11. The results showed A. vinosum 30-11 had an ability to accumulate PHAs granule better than A. vinosum 16-11 and could grow at optimum temperature at 30 ° C for 48 hours with shaking at 160 rpm. The cell dry weight was 7.03+-0.55 g/l when cultured in crude glycerol as carbon source. After PHAs extraction by using sodium hypochlorite as solvent, showed the high quality of PHAs that cultured from a molasses mixed crude glycerol (1:1) as a carbon source, which was appropriated for the A. vinosum isolate 30-11.
